No News is Good News

So, nothing too exciting happened today, no drama, no dead animals in the house. The Bug guy came today & pretty much told me what I already suspected, "I think they built your house on a ant colony." "Yeah no kidding bug guy" He asked if there was anything that I thought would be attracting them & I said don't think so. I guess that it didn't help that when we walked into Adam's room, the first thing we saw was a cheerio on the ground. In all fairness, that was not there yesterday when we did our massive spring cleaning-so take that bug guy! Then we had to leave for 4 hours, so I went over to my mom's & hung out with my sisters & nephews. Pretty much that is it. Oh I did pick flowers before the bug guy caught here. Our roses are really pretty this year & I actually was interested in taking care of them. I even went out & bought garden gloves & shears. (That in itself can be a whole another blog-titled I Have Every Intention of Taking up a New Hobby, but in reality Never Will) Anyway, here are some pics of my table arrangement.

Die Ants Die!

Today was a massive Spring cleaning day motivated by the fact that someone from Home Team Pest Defense is coming yet again to spray inside our house. Can I tell you that I am soo over ants invading our house. I seriously think our house was built on a huge ant colony & now they are seeking revenge in the very worst way by eating sections of my clothes! I have now discovered why I have little bite marks on several of my blouses. We have had this problem for months & have had the pest control people spray several times. It was explained to us that the invasion can be blamed on the fact that there is new construction going on in our neighborhood, causing the ants to get all stir crazy & come up. I don't care! I just want them to die a very slow a painful death! After several failed attempts to exterminate them, we are trying again tomorrow.
So, all that leads to us thoroughly cleaning every nook & cranny of our house. Adam wanted to help out & I had no objections. Here he is mopping our floor & dusting the living room. I did allow him to take a 15 minute break, in which time he had some juice & watched a little Yo Gabba Gabba. We do have to leave the house for 2-3 hours after they spray. Anyone want to hang out?
Disclaimer: no child was hurt or forced into child slave labor. : )

A Day in the Life

6:15-hit snooze
6:30-wake up,read the bible,pray
7:15-7:45-work out on the cross trainer
7:45-8:30-eat breakfast, read emails, drink my mandatory daily cup of coffee
8:30-Adam wakes up. I went into his room to find him just relaxing in his crib. The first thing is said to me was, "Mommy, poo" while pointing at his bum. So I told him, "Ok mommy will change your diaper", to which he responded, "Thank you". My kid cracks me up. Little did I know that this would be one of the many poopy diapers that I would change today, which is unusual. I think he has a stomach bug, which could explain why he puked all over the floor at Old Navy over the weekend. : ( Anyway back to our morning
8:30-8:45-change his diaper, read him a book, he insisted, made him breakfast,an egg, 1/2 a banana & cheerios.
Around 9:15ish- Adam said "Done" & "please, down". I put him down & cleaned him up.
I let Audrey (our dog) in to finish up Adam's leftovers. I looked down to find that she had brought in a dead baby bird! I was mortified. What the heck? Adam is standing there sreaming (with his spoon still in his hand), "Ew,Ew" I am freaking out telling him to not touch it. First I called Chris, then I called my mom. I know that it sounds silly, but just the idea of having to touch it, even with paper towels made me quesy. Oh, by the way Chris said, "Maybe you can bury it". "Um, no thanks!" I picked it up with a huge handful of paper towels, so as to not even slightly feel it, tossed it into a bag & took it out to the dumpster. Disinfected everything & vacuumed.
From there I just kinda lost all track of time. So that was my mini drama for the day. Now I am just trying to keep dinner warm until Chris gets home, watch Adam & work at the same time, but obviously I am not working if I am writing this, so I should probably get back to that!

Easter

Easter was really nice & relaxing this year. We went to church & then family came over for a bbq. It was fun to see the two boys (Adam & my nephew, Uriah) hunt for eggs. My youngest nephew, Ben wasn't too interested. The Easter bunny brought Adam plenty of books, finger paint, sidewalk chalk, a Yo Gabba Gabba dvd & toys, his absolute favorite show & plenty of candy that I have no idea what we are going to with. I am trying to hide it, otherwise I would probably end up snacking on it all day. Here are some pics of the day.
