A Busy October

October was a very busy month for us full of birthdays, a trip to the pumpkin patch with Sam & Bea, a family reunion and our 4th anniversary. Adam turned 2! I look at him and I can't believe how much he has grown. He has grown 5 inches since his last doctor's visit. His doctor said that his height is off the charts for a 2 year old. He continues to me Chris and I laugh constantly. He says the craziest things and we always wonder where he comes up with his stuff.
We had his birthday party on his actual birthday, the 16th and it went really well. He was a happy camper, he received all the things that he loves, Thomas the Train stuff, Yo Gabba Gabba bath toys and Super Friends dvds and a drumset from us .
Chris and I also celebrated our 4th anniversary. We went to our favorite restaurant, Logans in Fresno and then to Barnes & Noble, very low key but nice to just have an evening to ourselves. We also had a family reunion at Mooney Grove on the 24th. Adam had a blast playing with all his little cousins. Unfortunately, we had to miss going to the pumpkin path with my mom and sisters and two Halloween parties, due to Adam having a nasty cold. He did get to dress up as his favorite superhero, the Flash and if it were up to him he would wear it everyday. Here are some pictures from our busy month.

The Beach!

Last week we took a much needed mini vacation to the coast. It also happened to be Adam's first trip to the beach. We had a really great relaxing time. Adam loved flying a kite but he was not too keen about getting near the water and the sand between his feet. He kept screaming, "My feet are dirty!" It was too funny. Here are some pics of our trip, hopefully we can get back there soon.

Growing Pains

Today Adam called me "Mom" not mommy but Mom. What?! "I'm mommy, not mom." It just made me sad & made me feel old. : ) He is growing up so fast & he talks so much. He is putting sentences together, it is the cutest thing. My cousin owns a daycare & recently she became certified to become a preschool. She is very excited about the curriculum(sp?)and she asked me to enroll Adam in August. He would be there everyday from 8-3 and she would work on potty training him! I am excited for him because he would love it, plus Amy will teach him Spanish. I'm just sad thinking about a whole day without Adam. I know that I need to face the fact that he is no longer a baby. He will be two in four months! Here are some recent pics of Adam & Chris. You can tell how much he has grown & kinda changed. He looks like such a big boy.

Wow! A lot has happened since I last blog. I need to keep up. My mother in law & I have started our own business making all natural bath & body products & recently added my sister who is making soy candles! Blissful Bath & Home is taking off very quickly. I am most proud of our baby line, Blissful Baby with Adam on the label-so cute. So my days have been very full, taking orders & making yummy bath treats. I couldn't be happier. Our website should be up very soon, so until then here are some pictures of our products.

No News is Good News

So, nothing too exciting happened today, no drama, no dead animals in the house. The Bug guy came today & pretty much told me what I already suspected, "I think they built your house on a ant colony." "Yeah no kidding bug guy" He asked if there was anything that I thought would be attracting them & I said don't think so. I guess that it didn't help that when we walked into Adam's room, the first thing we saw was a cheerio on the ground. In all fairness, that was not there yesterday when we did our massive spring cleaning-so take that bug guy! Then we had to leave for 4 hours, so I went over to my mom's & hung out with my sisters & nephews. Pretty much that is it. Oh I did pick flowers before the bug guy caught here. Our roses are really pretty this year & I actually was interested in taking care of them. I even went out & bought garden gloves & shears. (That in itself can be a whole another blog-titled I Have Every Intention of Taking up a New Hobby, but in reality Never Will) Anyway, here are some pics of my table arrangement.

Die Ants Die!

Today was a massive Spring cleaning day motivated by the fact that someone from Home Team Pest Defense is coming yet again to spray inside our house. Can I tell you that I am soo over ants invading our house. I seriously think our house was built on a huge ant colony & now they are seeking revenge in the very worst way by eating sections of my clothes! I have now discovered why I have little bite marks on several of my blouses. We have had this problem for months & have had the pest control people spray several times. It was explained to us that the invasion can be blamed on the fact that there is new construction going on in our neighborhood, causing the ants to get all stir crazy & come up. I don't care! I just want them to die a very slow a painful death! After several failed attempts to exterminate them, we are trying again tomorrow.
So, all that leads to us thoroughly cleaning every nook & cranny of our house. Adam wanted to help out & I had no objections. Here he is mopping our floor & dusting the living room. I did allow him to take a 15 minute break, in which time he had some juice & watched a little Yo Gabba Gabba. We do have to leave the house for 2-3 hours after they spray. Anyone want to hang out?
Disclaimer: no child was hurt or forced into child slave labor. : )

A Day in the Life

6:15-hit snooze
6:30-wake up,read the bible,pray
7:15-7:45-work out on the cross trainer
7:45-8:30-eat breakfast, read emails, drink my mandatory daily cup of coffee
8:30-Adam wakes up. I went into his room to find him just relaxing in his crib. The first thing is said to me was, "Mommy, poo" while pointing at his bum. So I told him, "Ok mommy will change your diaper", to which he responded, "Thank you". My kid cracks me up. Little did I know that this would be one of the many poopy diapers that I would change today, which is unusual. I think he has a stomach bug, which could explain why he puked all over the floor at Old Navy over the weekend. : ( Anyway back to our morning
8:30-8:45-change his diaper, read him a book, he insisted, made him breakfast,an egg, 1/2 a banana & cheerios.
Around 9:15ish- Adam said "Done" & "please, down". I put him down & cleaned him up.
I let Audrey (our dog) in to finish up Adam's leftovers. I looked down to find that she had brought in a dead baby bird! I was mortified. What the heck? Adam is standing there sreaming (with his spoon still in his hand), "Ew,Ew" I am freaking out telling him to not touch it. First I called Chris, then I called my mom. I know that it sounds silly, but just the idea of having to touch it, even with paper towels made me quesy. Oh, by the way Chris said, "Maybe you can bury it". "Um, no thanks!" I picked it up with a huge handful of paper towels, so as to not even slightly feel it, tossed it into a bag & took it out to the dumpster. Disinfected everything & vacuumed.
From there I just kinda lost all track of time. So that was my mini drama for the day. Now I am just trying to keep dinner warm until Chris gets home, watch Adam & work at the same time, but obviously I am not working if I am writing this, so I should probably get back to that!

Easter

Easter was really nice & relaxing this year. We went to church & then family came over for a bbq. It was fun to see the two boys (Adam & my nephew, Uriah) hunt for eggs. My youngest nephew, Ben wasn't too interested. The Easter bunny brought Adam plenty of books, finger paint, sidewalk chalk, a Yo Gabba Gabba dvd & toys, his absolute favorite show & plenty of candy that I have no idea what we are going to with. I am trying to hide it, otherwise I would probably end up snacking on it all day. Here are some pics of the day.

1st Haircut

Today we took Adam to get his first haircut. He did really well, much better than I expected. I took a little envelope to save a little bit of his hair. Here are some before & after pics.

Eventful Week

It seems like this past week has been more busy than usual. I haven't written about this yet but Chris, Adam & I started going to a new church in January. Since moving to this church, which we love, we have not missed a Sunday or Thursday service. We have become more involved than we ever have before. Chris & I are part of the worship team, I sing, he plays the drums. Also, I have asked to be in charge of the Nursery & everything that entails & I also have the responsibility of making out the monthy schedule for both children's church & nursery. I love it because it gives me something to do other than my normal mommy duties & at the same time makes me feel useful. I am rather proud of it. I color coordinated everything on the caledar & made little keys at the bottom describing the workers' responsibilites/timeshifts. It makes its debut on Sunday, hopefully it will work for everyone.
In other news, last Saturday Adam & I missed my friend's pary because he was sick from his tummy. It sucked, not only that he was sick but that I was really looking forward to going. Later on in the day, Chris took him outside to get some sun & play. He was only out there for 5 minutes because he was so grouchy, but I took some pictures, mainly because he had his cute Valentines shirt on.
Even better news, Adam finally starting walking on Wednesday! I can not tell you how much I have been looking forward to it. He is 16 months old! I was expecting it to happen a long time ago. I am learning that every kid is different & that they will do things in their own time & when they are ready. It was just hard because I started walking at 10 months. I don't know why I was so hung up on it, if it wasn't for the fact that he has a big vocabulary & learns things so quickly, I would have been convinced he was behind. I know, it is crazy! I should not think like that. Anyway, he is walking & I am both relieved & sad that he is getting so big. He doesn't want to be held anymore, he is a boy on the go! I am going to try to post a video of his first day walking, hopefully it will go through.

Disneyland

Here are some pics of our trip to Disneyland. The weather was beautiful both days. Adam was terrified on Dumbo, so looks like we won't try that one again, other than his freakout, he did really well. He is very easy to travel with, mainly because he sleeps the majority of the time. Oh, while riding the Matterhorn, it broke down, we were already done with the ride but they wouildn't let us off, so we took pictures because we were bored. : ) My cousin Rod invited us to stay at his house, which was great because Adam got to play with his daughter Ella. All in all, it was a great birthday & a lot of fun.
